History:

Excluding imports from continental Europe, 480 Class 66 locomotives have been supplied by General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division (EMD) in Ontario, Canada and Muncie, Indiana to fulfil orders from UK operators. No. 66727 is one of five low-emission Class 66 locomotives delivered from EMD in Canada to GB Railfreight (GBRf) in early 2007.

The 3,200hp diesel-electric locomotive was repainted into GBRf Europorte ‘Maritime’ blue livery by Arlington at Eastleigh Works and named ‘Maritime One’ on 16 September 2016 at the Birmingham Intermodel Freight Terminal, which is one of a number of UK terminals operated by Maritime Transport. The locomotive was previously named ‘Andrew Scott CBE’.
